We view our community involvement, not as an act of generosity, but as an act of responsibility as a corporate citizen. Corporations depend upon the communities in which they live for the safety and well-being of their employees and their families, and for the education of future employees.

Scitor strongly believes in being good corporate citizens within our communities. Scitor promotes and encourages active community involvement to all of our employees. Each year Scitor donates pre-tax profits to various organizations in four general categories: education, the arts, aid to medical reseach or aid to the underprivileged.

Over the years, Scitor has maintained a strong focus in the educational arena. This emphasis on education reflects a strong corporate belief that the future begins now - with the education of our children.

A few examples of our involvement are:

Sunnyvale Community Services
The Sunnyvale office has a long standing relationship with Sunnyvale Community Services, an organization that serves the needy population in Sunnyvale, CA. Scitorians do whatever they can to help. We bag groceries that are delivered to needy families on a monthly basis. We help set up and staff the Christmas store during the holidays, and collect toiletries for distribution year round.

The Race for the Cure
Nationwide, Scitorians participated in this 5K walk/run to raise money for breast cancer research, education and screening. In addition, the Washington DC area offices has a focused campaign to increase participation. In 2002, 800 Scitorians, families and friends either walked or ran in the national race in Washington DC.

Scitor forms partnership with a school in Virginia
Scitor’s East Coast operations have entered into a business partnership with Rachel Carson Middle School. Scitor's interest in this activity is to give back to the local community and help in the education of our youth. Scitor provides support in the following areas: lectures, computer support, computer equipment, graphics support, and project support.

Other
In addition, Scitorians in California and Colorado have supported the Toys for Tots drive, math tutoring programs, the Sky High Hope Camp for children with cancer, the Special Olympics, and the Pikes Peak Challenge for the Brain Injury Association.

Also, Scitorians support multiple schools and charitable organizations across the country.
